The kiss-off?
In Hollywood, everyone needs an agent. And everyone needs a manager.
I have a fallback position if I don't find one right away - Lili. But I'm looking around.
So yesterday, I met with an potential agent. He didn't take the headset from his ear, nor did he move from his chair. He spent time telling me what I should do to get cast, how to treat casting agents, what was important to their agency (that actors follow their instructions to the letter) and how bad the market is right now.
Um...we're in the middle of pilot and episodic season right now. Just to be clear. It's the busiest time of the year. The breakdowns are averaging 20-30 a day. That's busy.
Anyway, he ended the 4 minute meeting with me yesterday with an invitation to give him a call today.
Which I did. I was following their instructions to the letter.
He had his assistant, who follows every sentence with "OK, chief? Alright, dude? Cool, Sparky?", confide in me that because things were so slow, they couldn't really do anything with me right now, but to contact them before I signed with anyone else.
I thanked him and hung up.
